Grants

Thanks to the generous support of the Bingham Board, first the DLA and now the BCTE provide grant opportunities for faculty to purchase innovative technology, (re-)design courses, create new pedagogical resources, and attend and present at pedagogical conferences.

From 2018 to 2023, the Digital Liberal Arts program supported approximately 53 faculty and teaching staff with grants to infuse technology into teaching.

Our current grants continue the DLA opportunities and expand beyond technology to broader pedagogical projects. Since August 2023, the BCTE has supported the pedagogical development of 42 faculty and teaching staff through grants.

Here are a few examples of grant-funded projects

Lighting, sound, and film equipment for the Theatre program, initiated by Prof. Tosha Fowler

Camera and peripheral equipment for Antioch ad Cragum Archaeological Research Project, Dr. Frank Russell's excavation project with students

Transy and Race, an online pedagogical resource for numerous courses built by many Transy faculty and students, initiated by Dr. Leslie Ribovich and Priya Ananth

Recorded video lectures for flipped classrooms, Drs. Mike LeVan, Ellen Furlong, Melissa Fortner, Iva Katzarska-Miller
