Library Instruction
Library and Educational Technology Instruction
In this Tech Tuesday, the Assistant Director of the Library, Helen Bischoff, presented on the variety of ways that the library is developing educational programming for students and classes ranging from first year seminar all the way through seminar level classes.
Helen also introduced the idea of "pathways," which the library instruction unit is developing to try and build a cohesive research experience for students in specific disciplines. She noted that a lot of library instruction happens in first year for the seminar and that some students going into their senior courses feel like they only encountered library research in the first and final years at Transy.
The library hopes to use pathways to help reinforce the education that begins in the first year and to scaffold more learning into second and third year courses to better prepare students for the expectations of more in depth scholarly endeavors.
